Trampoline

Cairnsfoot has an in ground trampoline, a resource used to assist students in developing and generalising skills and concepts across a number of Key Learning Areas (KLA).

Particular focus is put on:

  • turn taking, finishing, waiting, sharing (PDHPE, HSIE)
  • social interaction and Communication (English, PDHPE)
  • gross motor development (PDHPE)
  • balance and spatial awareness improvement (PDHPE)
  • following visual/written/verbal instructions, rules and routines (HSIE, English)
  • scientific concepts
  • independent living skills (PDHPE)
  • number concepts (Mathematics)
  • having fun - leisure and games.

Many of our students with Autism Spectrums Disorders benefit significantly from the sensory experience provided by the trampoline.
