Cairnsfoot has an in ground trampoline, a resource used to assist students in developing and generalising skills and concepts across a number of Key Learning Areas (KLA).
Particular focus is put on:
- turn taking, finishing, waiting, sharing (PDHPE, HSIE)
- social interaction and Communication (English, PDHPE)
- gross motor development (PDHPE)
- balance and spatial awareness improvement (PDHPE)
- following visual/written/verbal instructions, rules and routines (HSIE, English)
- scientific concepts
- independent living skills (PDHPE)
- number concepts (Mathematics)
- having fun - leisure and games.
Many of our students with Autism Spectrums Disorders benefit significantly from the sensory experience provided by the trampoline.
